The Earth Moves

"The Earth Moves" is a short documentary that examines the role of science and
religion in our society through the lens of Bertolt Brecht’s play “Life of Galileo.” The film
follows the trials and elations of a small theater company experimenting with such visually
dramatic elements as 10-ft puppets, carnival masks, and murals drenched with symbolism to
bring Brecht's vision of Galileo to life.

Galileo Galilei was a 17th-century astronomer who rocked Roman Catholic civilization when
he hypothesized that, contrary to widespread belief, the earth revolved around the sun. Due to
overwhelming pressure from church, state, and others in society who refused to accept that
Earth was not the center of the universe, Galileo eventually publicly recanted his views.

The film brings critical perspective to the controversial issue of evolution as it entertains the
ways in which Galileo's dilemma lives on today. Through in-depth discussions with scientists,
artists and religious scholars, the film modernizes the eternal conflict between spirituality and
reason that defined Galileo Galilei’s life and times, and ultimately shaped his destiny.

The filmmakers are Julie Adler, Sarah Brett, Ann Cowan, Darcie DeAngelo, Lauren Erwin, KC
Forcier, Amy Mertl, and Jason Ong.

BrewHaHa

"BrewHaHa" explores what happens when two women from different backgrounds decide to brew their own beer for the first time. They also learn more about the modern homebrew movement, by interviewing and helping Boston-area brewing celebrities.

From sterilization nightmares to bottling mishaps, they discover the art and science of brewing and appreciating craft beer. They also discover more about themselves and each other as they eagerly anticipate that first sip of their very own brew.
